To these women, Snape was not just a character they were attracted to. Oh no, he was a God-like figure who could be spiritually channeled. Snape Wives did not like it when fellow Snapists had crushes on another fictional character. However, it was okay to have a non-Snape boyfriend or husband. Apparently, that wasn't considered cheating on their morally ambiguous greasy haired sad boy. If you're reading this and thinking, "Why God, why are you sharing this information with me?
